Meet Dr. Simran and how it all started…

I was twelve years old when my uncle ( Col.Dr. D.S KANG), a well renowned oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Ludhiana and his colleague suggested that I seek an orthodontic (braces) treatment to align my teeth properly. To do so, I had to get two teeth removed and wear an appliance (worn partially outside the mouth) for a period of over a year. The process took a while, but in the end, to my surprise the results were absolutely amazing. It was then, that I realized the importance of a smile and developed a passion for this field. When I got older, I had decided that I wanted to help people with their smile transformations, and hence the passion to become an orthodontist began.

Not only that, I also wanted to follow in the footsteps of my uncle; it was his dream that I too, become a dentist. So after completing my high school in Canada, I started working and observing my cousin who is a dentist in Canada. It was there I realized what an oral health care should look like. I moved back to India and completed my Bachelors of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Christian medical college, a pristine institution in Ludhiana. My coursework and practical experience while studying BDS accentuated my passion for orthodontics.

I went on to earn my Masters degree (MDS) in the field of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. There, I not only excelled in my studies, but I also published many national and internationals articles and journals. With pride and honor, I became an author of two books which were published internationally.

Now, as certified orthodontist, I presently work as an orthodontic consultant in various hospitals and private dental clinics in and around Ludhiana. I thoroughly believe in ensuring that the patient is at ease at every step of the treatment process. I strive to serve my patients with the most comprehensive and advanced treatments.
